Denning is small town located on the Neversink River in western Ulster County. Set within the Catskill Park the town is surrounded by rugged mountains, steep rocky slopes, clear mountain streams and narrow valleys. Denning was established in 1849 and is comprised of two hamlets; Sundown and Claryville. Denning is best known for it’s boundless outdoor recreational opportunities and excellent trout fishing. The town sits in close proximity to the Rondout and Neversink Reservoirs and is a short trip from the historic district in Grahamsville home of the world’s smallest “World’s Fair”.
