The Community of Kingston

The city and town of Kingston are located about 90 miles north of NYC. Kingston is rich with history having been the first capital of New York in 1777. Today Kingston is the Ulster County seat of government. The city boasts two waterfronts, the Hudson River and the Rondout Creek and a wonderful uptown historic district. With easy access to boating, shopping and many restaurants both year round residents and tourists can find many activities to occupy their time. Trips to the Trolley Museum of New York, Hudson River Maritime Museum, Fred J Johnston Museum and Senate House Historic Site will give visitors a true flavor of Kingston history. Woodstock, Rhinebeck and all the recreational activities provided by the Catskill Mountains and duel waterfronts are a short trip from Kingston. Public transportation to NYC can be easily accessed through Amtrak in Rhinecliff or Trailways Bus in Uptown Kingston.
