The Community of Saugerties

Saugerties sits between the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson River on the border of Greene County to the north. Saugerties is a rural community with a fun and interesting village. It was recently included on Budget Travel Magazine’s list of America’s Coolest Small Towns. Listed on the Historical Register, the village area is walk-able and offers interesting shopping and fine restaurants. Both the Plattekill and Esopus Creeks flow through town and empty into the Hudson River. The historical Saugerties Lighthouse is available to visitors as a bed & breakfast. Saugerties is home to “HITS”, (Horse Shows in the Sun), and the ever popular “Garlic Festival”. If outdoor activities are your thing fabulous skiing and hiking are a short ride away. Whether year round resident, second home owner or tourist Saugerties has something for you.
